2020 African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) World AIDS Day Grants.
The African women’s development fund is a Pan-African grant-making organization that supports the realization and fulfillment of African women’s rights through the funding of autonomous women’s organizations in the continent.
Since its formation in the year 2000; AFRICAN WOMEN DEVELOPMENT FUND [AWDF], has awarded grants of above 40.7 million US Dollars to over 1,250 women organizations in 46 countries in Africa and the Middle East.
The AWDF prepares women and girls as leaders in key industries to ensure that Africa realizes its full potentials on matters ranging from entrepreneurship to the impact of climatic changes to reproductive health to developing socially responsible enterprises.
We are happy to invite applications for the award of grants to African women’s rights organizations and groups to support activities that promote the wellbeing of women. Every year, AWDF supports innovative women’s rights groups and organizations under the small grants initiative, to coordinate activities around World AIDS Day and 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence.
- This year, under this initiative, AWDF will focus on education and awareness on preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG) as well as promoting women’s access to comprehensive mental health and wellness services.
