DAAD/NELGA Research Fellowships during Covid 19 For African Students

The German Academic exchange service (DAAD) is funded by the Deutsche fur Internazionale Zusammenarbet (DIZ) as commissioned by the German federal ministry for economic cooperation and development (BMZ) to organize support measures for the Network of Excellence for Land Governance in Africa (NELGA). 

NELGA’s research fellowship program aims to support junior researchers in conducting a specific research projector field study at a NELGA partner institution and encourage them to pursue successful  scientific careers. Through the program, research fellows contribute to the development of African scientific collaboration and promote academic excellence. 

About German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) 

DAAD scholarship in Germany is a private, Federally funded and state owned, self governing national agencies of the institution o higher education in Germany representing 365 higher education institution (100 universities and technical universities, 162 general universities of applied science, and 52 colleges of music and art). The DAAD itself does not offer programs of study or courses , but awards competitive, merit based grants for use towards study or research in Germany.

Aims of DAAD NELGA research fellowship 

The fellowship cab be granted for research conducted in any NELGA partner institution or research institute. The grant is non renewable . 

Requirements for DAAD NELGA research  fellowship 

• Applicants must have completed at least one university degree

•Applicant must be an African

• Applicant must be granted leave of a sense by their home school for the aim of field research. 

Female applicants from less privileged areas are adviced to go for the programme. 

Documents required for application 

•Curriculum Vitae including list of publication 

•Detailed description of the research proposal and previous research works. 

•Schedule of planned research works

•All university certificate received so far

•One recent reference by a university lecturer.
