Administrated by the University of Montreal, the fund is established to support international candidates in their university studies. The university offers these grants for exemption from the tuition fees usually charged to international students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be an international student.
  • Applicant must hold a study permit and who are neither permanent residents nor Canadian citizens.
  • Candidate must be enrolled full-time in a study program throughout their studies.
  • The candidate must be enrolled in the semester in which the award is presented within nine credit hours.
  • The student must participate in a full-time degree program at the university.
  • The applicant must have to hold an offer of study the undergraduate and graduate degree coursework.

Benefits of the Programs

The scholarships will be awarded as follow:

Undergraduate program: The results of the analysis are ranked according to the following three levels:

  • Level A: $11,998 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $5,999 per session (15 credits) or $399 per credit
  • Level B: $5,718 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $2,859 per session (15 credits) or $190.60 per credit
  • Level C: $2,000 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $1,000 per session (15 credits) or $66.67 per credit

These amounts are applied to tuition fees of $23,662 per year (30 credits).

Graduate program (masters): A partial exemption scholarship from the additional tuition fees usually charged to international students is available.

  • $9,420 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or
  • $3,140 per session (equivalent to 15 credits)

This amount is applied to tuition fees of $27,300 per year (45 credits).

Graduate program (PhD): This bursary exemption allows you to benefit from the same tuition fees as students from graduate studies in Québec.

  • $19,339 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or
  • $6,546 per course (equivalent to 15 credits) for the entire duration of your studies.

This amount is applied to the tuition fees of $24,300 per year (45 credits).

How to Apply for the Scholarship

For applying to theses studentship, candidates are needed to follow this application procedure:

Step 1: Apply for admission

For taking advantage of this program, requisites are compelled to submit their application for being enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at the University of Montreal. Before completing the application form, make sure that the submission deadlines are respected and that you review the admission criteria of your choice for study programmes.

Step 2: Apply for a scholarship

After taking admission, you will receive the notice of award. Once you’ve received your Award Notice, you’ll be asked to send your Claim. This document will be available at your Student Centre, the Université de Montréal platform for monitoring the progress of your application.

Step 3: Submit required documents

  • High school degree certificate
  • Transcripts of the current school
  • Transcripts of the previous school (only if requested)
  • Post-secondary transcript
  • Official test scores
  • Resume/curriculum vitae

Entry Requirements

  • Applicant must satisfy typical academic qualifications and requirements.
  • With their High School Certificate, you are expected to hold an undergraduate degree.
  • If English is not your first language, then studying with us will allow you to meet the English language requirements.

Visa Requirements

As an international student, for studying in Canada, you’ll need different permits and visas. You’ll do it at the Canadian embassy, consulate or high commission closest to you. You can apply for your permit as soon as you receive your admission offer from Regina University, and agree to accept it.
